Airport Rail Link construction topic on 2Bangkok website forum: As the Airport Rail Link construction has been and will be delayed again, the expected opening date couldn't be before mid-2009 or maybe end of the year 2009.
The airport line construction is not yet completed and stations are not ready but SRT will do some trial runs on some part of link during 2008, from Makkasan depot to the aiport, it seems, as the other way is far to be built.
It's now confirmed that the airport link will un from Makkasan station and depot every 15 minutes, cityrail making 8 stops from Payathai where is the connection with BTS and with a train every thirty minutes.
The airport rail link fare will be around 50 THB (1 euro), and the cityrail looks similar to Bangkok BTS skytrain with only only along window seats.
Some airport rail link cars already arrived in BKK but all the remaining ones will be in BKK by halfway 2008, so the driving staff and maintenance staff will have time to do a complete training before the service starts.
